1. Open all window blinds the same amount in the same direction and open curtains
2. Turn all interior lights on
3. Keep front door closed for outdoor photographs
4. Declutter, declutter and again declutter
5. Remove personal items you do not want seen online (e.g., photos of family)
6. Check that all light bulbs are working and are the same color temperature (all LED or all incandescent)
7. Turn off ceiling fans
8. Make sure no toys are laying around
9. Clean and remove dirty dishes from the sink
10. Clear kitchen counters
11. Remove refrigerator magnets
12. Push all kitchen and dining chairs in towards table
13. Make sure beds are made
14. Remove visible items from under the bed
15. Clear bathroom counters
16. Close all toilet seats
17. Remove all streaks on mirrors
18. Put away all laundry
19. If you can, remove shampoos and soaps from the shower and hide
20. Uncover and set up pool table
21. Turn off all TVs and computer monitors
22. Hide all garbage cans
23. Finally, clean and go as far as washing windows and all the doors and baseboards in your home
24. Whew, now you can put your feet up and enjoy all your hard work
We may move small items, such as throw rugs, when we believe it will result in a less cluttered photo. Taking away throw rugs can create the illusion of a larger room.
